Week 4

This week we are going to look at the different ways in which organisations can help people.

Two groups will research Focus Ireland.

One group will research the society of the St Vincent de Paul.

One group will work with a case study and perform a role play highlighting how people might feel if they were without a home and also how people treat them. The role play will follow one boy's story and detail how he managed to get himself off the streets. We will think about what we have learnt over the past few weeks and bring this into the role play.

Red Group and Blue Group: Can you both research Focus Ireland?
The Red Group will look at the services they provide. Aonad 8 pg84 below may be useful. Could you all please fill out pg83 as well. I would like you to discuss some of the points and summarise them at the end of the class.

Blue Group can you research what people can do if they want to help? Is there something that we as a class, as a community could do? What are the options? Do you have any of your own ideas?

Yellow Group: There is an organisation called the Society of the Vincent de Paul. Can you work together and find out what services they offer? Some of the group will research the Sunshine House specifically. I want you to also find out how we can help this society.

Green Group: Discuss what you all have learnt in the past few weeks. Think about the case studies we talked about and the YouTube clips we watched. Devise a story about a person of no home. The story must start with a glimpse of his life before and after. The group will then allocate parts to everyone and perform the play at the end of the session.

LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
