Final Tasks

We are working very hard to complete our tasks.

In a few days we will show them all to the other 6th class.

We hope they learn as much as we have.

Research to see how we can help

We loved finding out about organisations such as Focus Ireland and Society of Vincent de Paul.

Out of home

The ZooBurst activity was fun. It was interesting to create our own story and we were glad it had a happy ending. Some of the stories in Aonad 2 were sad, we didn't realise how much being poor could impact on a family.

It was good to explore some statistics and learn more about homelessness in Ireland.

The pictures showed us how people cope when they are out of a home. We began to understand what life is like for them and how much we take for granted. We don't appreciate how lucky we are.

The YouTube clip based on Focus Ireland showed us what people are doing to help. We also learnt how being out of a home could happen to anyone.

The Sketches

All of the groups performed their sketches this week.

They were all amazing - well done everyone!

We learnt how poverty might make people might feel and how this might make them act.

We are learning to understand the impact of poverty on people.

First class over

Well, we have just finished our first class learning about poverty.

It was very interesting to look at what is happening in Ireland.

Hopefully we can learn a lot over the next few weeks.

Welcome!

Welcome to our Blog!

We are learning about poverty in Ireland and what we can do to help.

We are going to work in groups and complete activities each week.

At the end we will work together to show the other 6th class the work we have done.
